The end of the semester has come - I sat up last night and did 17 chapters of Business Law homework. I'm tired. I'm still working on gettina a graphics card for my computer so it will support my new monitor and I need 2 sticks of RAM.
I can't leave for camp until after the 7th due to the fact that I have an exam that day - other than that one exam, I could leave by Tuesday - other than that class I could leave Friday.
I'm exhausted - off to get some sleep before my eye exam.

6 multiplied by 9?
I've neglected this blog.
On films: I realize that firefly is not a film, but I have recently purchased and watched the whole of it and was left wanting more. I've seen several episodes as well as Serenity so I now continue to ask: "what is wrong with Fox?"
I saw 300 a few weeks back - my verdict: ok. I was disappointed in the length - they could've closed out the story better and made it a great movie to me. I thought there was too much nudity. The effects were great but they needed to focus on the story rather than making sure that every sword hit has a blood splatter.
On politics: the state of this country is frightening. Is there anyone who stands for anything? No political figure has been able to hold my respect besides Joe Wilson. I have this sinking feeling that this country is pretty much screwed due to foolish argumentation and arrogant greed.
On music: I just bought a few CD's - Relient K [Five Score And Seven Years Ago]: I'm a mite disappointed but there are a few songs good enough to justify the purchase (plus I have all of thier other CDs so why not). Third Day [Chronology Vol. 1]: A lot of repeated work but good. Worth the buy. The Almost [Southern Weather]: Amazing. Aaron Gillespe (sp?) is awesome - I hope I can put out an album like that one day. Anberlin [Cities]: Pretty close to an extension of Never Take Friendship Personal - it's good. This puts me at overr 300 CDs now. (so that's where all of my money went...)
I hope to bring the status of this blog to semi active - perhaps a post per week.

A new computer
I'm shopping for a new computer - preferably a laptop - and I think I've settled on one - the only problem with it is it's large and costs almost 3 times what I spent on my desktop.
The verdict is that I want to get a MacBook pro with a 17 inch screen (in a magazine I read it was nicknamed "the cafeteria tray" due to it's size). I've never owned a Mac but I think I would like to avoid vista at any cost. I am also drawn to them because of superior reputation in recording and video or photo editing.
I may be able to buy it before summer but it's doubtful. Perhaps during the summer.

.
I seem to have lost my muse. When previously I could write some decent prose I am at a complete loss for words. My mind is simply a wasteland of foolish thoughts and petty complaints of life. I have found it difficult to even complain about government, hypocrisy, and waste. This comes partially because I have been burned out and recovering but also because my mind has deteriorated from a lack of very deep and philosophical reasoning - I find "because I said so" to be more desirable to me as a response than a well thought out and structured defense.
I found that some of my writing was best while I was stressed beyond sanity and depressed from the work I was neglecting - but I also was kind of miserable so I won't do that again. I need some depth and substance to debate. I have always been a passive debater but I want to get in a discussion where there can be no answer and hash out all possible outcomes.
I have a distaste for my selections in music - I'm finding myself listening to country and wierd Al all of the time - which can cause cancer in my mind. It's time for a change. Unmerited dissatisfaction is my central theme right now. I want for very little while desiring everything.
Foolishness. I crave wisdom.
I will post this on both blogs for the sake of ease rather than writing this again in different words. Indolence.

An imported note from Facebook
Ok. So I'm back to the "hey I want to do stuff with music" idea again. I've avoided it since spring due to the music theory grades (that really was a downer). So I focused all of my energy into business. God apparently didn't care for me avoiding opportunities to play and be out there so I've had lots of obstacles with school and life in general - nothing big, just numerous. I feel a peace about playing again and don't want to screw up the gift I believe God gave me by hiding or neglecting it.As far as school goes - I'm not going to CIU again right now. I'm going to look around for this Fall or next spring.

Why do I need a title?
It's cold as crap outside so I feel like complaining - it was 27 when I left the house this morning.
This semester - I currently have 4 a's and 1 grade which I don't know.
Business 101 - not too bad very6 boring due to overlap with management.
Management 101 - same as Business only due to overlap with business.
Computers 170 - Boring - I learned nothing - we skipped the section on Access - the only thing I didn't know well.
Macroeconomics - Excellent if we would ever finish the class - we haven't me in 2 weeks.
Marriage & The Family - I don't really know - I've only recieved 1 grade and it wasn't good so I'm pesimistic. - A good class though, it has been interesting.
I'm ready to go back to camp. I miss people.
I'm plagued with writers block as well.

V
V for Vendetta. I saw this movie about 2 weeks ago now and was both impressed and slightly offended by it. The views on government were very close to my own - when government gets too strong the people suffer and must take action. Views on religion were slightly offensive though partially an echo of the Nazi regime - religious based government reaches out to crush those of differing opinions rather than reaching out in love to persuade them to change. The views on homosexuality differ greatly from my own - I don't hate people of that lifestyle but I do believe that they are wrong. I believe that the only way to effectively change a persons views is to guide them to believe as you do rather than openly confront them - confrontation does have it's benefits as does violence but persuasion leaves less damage to heal.
I will be buying this film to watch it many more times - it recieves good rating. Theatrically it is amazing, excellent dialogue and writing.
I would rant on the Government of the U.S. here but I feel I have been so disconnected from the news over the summer I would be beating old topics to death.

A Title of non-noteworthiness
Why am I here? To serve God - that's about all I see here besides self glorification and self satisfaction. Do I care about life? nope not so much - I live for the aforementioned reasons, seeing the second 2 as having a severe emphasis on SELF. aquiring accolades for myself makes me sick to my stomach because the only reward I truly deserve is death. (man this is sounding pessimistic - it may get worse) To do well in school I study (sometimes) and then regurgitate the info to pass a test - I actually remember things if I want to or see them as being useful. Music - requires no real effort because God has given me talent that I really don't deserve - it makes me hate my talent when I recieve the recognition. I am nothing. My past mistakes follow me daily never allowing me to rest. Long awaited is the final rest but I will not leave until God has perscibed it.
The day is long, the rest is short but when grace shines through all is well.
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusionof the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." - Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Writing
----
When I first felt the feelings
I was sure that they would pass
As time slipped by
My heart turned to glass
While the time apart
Has caused my heart to ache
My feelings remain secret
Because I fear it may break
Will I have the pain of loss
Because the words are unspoken
Or will I let them out with
A chance my heart will be broken
When I first felt the feelings
I was sure that they would pass
As time slipped by
My heart turned to glass
While the time apart
Has caused my heart to ache

Wow.
I wrote out my thoughts after I got back from the movies - watching "Serenity"; here they are:
A view on culture of humanity
The new film Serenity contains, mixed in with excellent fight scenes and some humor, an amazing thought process that should be considered by everyoneon Earth. There are actually a few themes that run throughout this movie, which add to its impact.
1. Humans are fallen and, without some outside influence, would fall into a deep current of selfishness and a lust for control, so strong that they would destroy themselves in a quest for more.
2. When in a leadership role it is important to know the reasons for a misssion or project, in order to know whether it is morally wrong or not, rather than blind obedience.
I don't care if you agree that there was some sort of moral to this film or not, but I found this to be one of the most amazing films I have ever seen.
This film broke it's way to my number 1 on the first viewing (tonight 45 minutes ago) because of an amazing story line, a deep message and some awesome fight scenes. This movie smashed StarwarsIII (though not one of my favorites, it was big this year) and it respectfully wins out over Batman Begins.

American prosperity
I have seemingly been bombarded with thoughts in the area of American arrogance which has made me think about the reasons for this mindset. America is one of the most prosperous countries in the world therefore most of its people are very self-righteous and condescending in the spreading of the American culture throughout the world. Americas prosperity has becom one of its greatrest attributes but also one of its worst detriments. Americans have become extremely selfish in their goals and worldviews there hasd been a severe loss of personality in the U.S. This loss of personality stems from that selfish want for more - not just more money but more land, food, friends, fun, sex or anything really, this has assisted in tearing the people of America farther and farther apart from each other and from the world. The "dog eat dog" mentality has given way to a bunch of cruel ideas of how to get ahead by stepping on the little people and basically the ends justifying the means sort of thing. This has also led to a major loss of people being personal due to a fear of personal hurt. Americans are shallow because they're afraid of what others think of them.

<---->
The idea of censorship has been in our culture for years, I believe that it is an exceptionally good principle - in most cases. The cases that it is good in are those such as foul language, or nudity and the like - things that would (to the majority) be considered socially unacceptable. There has been a movement in the past several years to censor other things like beliefs or ideas that might cause a change in society - things, which the first amendment of the U.S. constitution was designed to protect. I have been thinking about writing this for several months now and I think that now is the time. The recent California court ruling that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional is (to me anyway) an open attack on not just Christianity, but any religion that has a "god" figure as its basis, this is an attack on the first amendment rights of all Americans as well - a serious dejavu for many back to the school prayer battle. I know you're thinking church and state church and state- that is a major load of crap, this government was founded on the basis that there was some sort of deity that was out there floating around, so I know that God is not God to everyone but for those of us who believe in Him can you kindly keep your mouths closed or - better yet go start your own country. Keep your atheistic self out of my life and my country. I'm ticked and pressed for time, so this sounds very calloused and blunt but hey, if I don't make someone think about this then my goal of swaying opinions is lost and I have just wasted my time.
